BioPurgatory. Considered one of the hot spots in the Kabukicho district in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, a red-light district home to not only hostess bars and love hotels but major shopping plazas, restaurants, and nightclubs, Purgatory is the place to go to catch live music. With two rock bands playing most weekends and a variety of support bands, Purgatory caters to a wide range of musical tastes. When the bands aren't playing, house DJs keep a steady stream of music going to please the regular customers. There are several bartenders, waitresses, and technicians that staff the club, as well as bouncers to keep trouble to a minimum. With an owner, Yukimura Seiichi, who keeps his eye on all aspects of the club, and has mysterious contacts in the music industry from his days of a past he'd prefer to keep under wraps, the underground music scene is at it's height in the club, with an intense rivalry between the two main bands who play in the club and even between the support acts.
Diamond Lies, a visual kei band fronted by lead singer [character name - spot still open], has their share of fans, both because of their musical talent and their vocalist's looks and charisma. The band was founded by both the lead singer and another member of the band, a long time friend of the singer's, and they continue to produce the majority of the band's lyrical and musical content, despite the addition of several members. The band enjoys the main stage at Purgatory two nights a week, and despite their usually laid back attitude, expect that their work will pay off with a record deal in the near future.
Kousan, another visual kei band is a direct competitor to Diamond Lies. Rumors abound that the band was started only to compete with Diamond Lies' endeavor, although they have never been confirmed. The lead singer possesses just as much musical talent as his rival, and his band is just as popular amongst the regular clientèle of Purgatory as Diamond Lies, and so many people disregard the rumors.
The competition between the two main bands is hardly what one could consider 'friendly rivalry', the lengths that members from both bands will go to hinder the others' progress downright malicious. Few of the band members are even on speaking terms, and most people are aware that if you're friends with one band, you're enemies with the other.
Besides the staff and musicians at the club, there is a group of 'regulars', either fans of the bands that rarely miss a show, or patrons who come to mingle, regardless of the show. Because of the tight-knit atmosphere, most of the people who frequent the club are friends or at least acquaintances of the band members.
Purgatory operates like any other club, liquor license in hand and attempting to keep good relations with the local law enforcement. And, like most other clubs and bars, Purgatory has its share of illicit activities going on behind closed doors. Alcohol, drugs, and sex are heavy contributors to the atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Without the benefits of controlled substances, the rivalries that exist between the bands might be even harder to bear than they are.

Purgatory is a Prince of Tennis Roleplaying Game. This means you'll be using characters from the manga/anime Prince of Tennis It's up to you to decide how much you want to keep consistent with their given backgrounds, but please do keep their personalities consistent.
The main community is to be used simply for log posts and character additions and warnings. Everything else - plot discussion, introductions, and the like, should be kept in the OOC community.
Your journals are yours to use however you like. If you prefer descriptive updates, use them. If you prefer to write in it like your own online journal, do it. If you feel your character will benefit from a mixture, go for it. One liners are accepted, but please do not make every one of your updates one liners.
If you would like to join as part of a support band, and there are none currently to choose from, or you don't feel your character would fit in, then create a new one. The number that can be created all at once will be limited, so remember this when applying with one, when you see applications above with the same thing. And you have to consider that you won't have any band mates to begin with, so finding people to fill positions would be key, and your responsibility.
On that note, I would like it if the main bands were filled in first, and the positions within the club. The two main bands are named, with a small history given, but if the people who do join as the band members wish to edit/add/change anything, please feel free to let me know. The people who fill in the positions of the bands are also free to chose which popular, real life bands the band sounds like, to give the other members an idea of what kind of music they would be playing.
Storylines. Whether you prefer to plan them, or just go with the flow, that's fine. Of the characters of the community that are taken already, some have infinite possibilities for interacting with your character almost no matter who they are. Don't be shy just to drop an OOC hello to perhaps discuss where your characters could interact. As for the nature of the storylines, I don't believe in restriction of slash, drugs, abuse, just be mature, use your common sense, and don't have everyone getting pregnant at the same time. And if you must, have your character commit suicide, but note that this equals automatic removal considering your character can no longer interact; this is not a supernatural enviroment. On a similar note, murder would only be acceptable if it were a unnamed character who died, and you still run the risk of being caught for it and put into jail, so perhaps it isn't worth it. you may not kill another active character without their express permission, if they really wish to leave the community that dramatically it is their decision.
Update limit will be once every two weeks. If you will be unable to update for any reason either e-mail the mod, leave a post in the ooc journa, or comment here, that's fine. Don't abuse this. Two weeks is plenty of time to interact with at least one other person in the community. You can update more frequently than this if you wish. Also, please log with at least one other person every two weeks, more if possible. Threading and/or e-mail logs can always be used. I'll try to post a thread every week or so, centered around the club - everyone is encouraged to participate in these. If there is no updating or interaction for a character in two weeks and they have given no reason for an absence, they will be given a warning, and if another week goes by without them updating or interacting, they will be removed.
Logs should be posted in the main community for all to read. NC-17 content is allowed, but please friends-lock all R and NC-17 logs. Always give warnings if the logs do contain mature content. Use the following format for posting logs (I'm sure we all know this stuff):

A question to answer in the application? No, just follow the rules while in the community and that will be good enough. If you don't, we reserve to right to warn and remove you if necessary. Be aware of this before joining. Rules may be altered if situations crop up, but any changes will be made known to you. If keeping OOC and IC separate is not obvious and requires being pointed out again, it will be.
